Food is medicine. What we eat is vital to our health and can contribute to it, good or bad.
Ultra processed foods are usually foods that have LONG ingredient list and have many added sugars, preservatives, artificial flavors and can contain many EMPTY CALORIES. These foods often can be consumed FAST leading to increased consumption which can cause weight gain. Avoiding these types of foods would be IDEAL but reducing them would be more practical to contribute to a healthier diet and life style.
What you eat does matter. Counting calories encourages you to obsess about quantity over quality. Eventually, the quality of your diet will suffer, and so will your health.
If you're eating 1000 calories of junk or processed food, your body won’t actually process the energy the same as if you were eating 1000 calories of whole foods
The key is to stay within an appropriate range of calories for the amount of fuel you’re burning. But you also need to stick to a nutrient-dense diet that won’t make your insulin and blood sugar cry out for help. Foods that keep blood sugar stable help you feel satisfied and discourage binge-eating.
Are you having a healthy weight without belly fat right now or still struggling with your weight and don’t know how to start dieting properly?
